Are you feeling kinda off at work lately? Like you’re doing all the “right” things, checking all the boxes, but still wondering, “Is this really it?”
If you’ve been daydreaming about quitting your job, switching fields, starting something totally new—or just finding something that actually feels like you—trust me, you’re not alone.
This week on the pod, we’re talking all things careers.
✨ Leaving the “Safe” Job for Something That Feels Right
Shannon recently did the thing so many of us fantasize about—she left her stable, “on paper perfect” job because deep down, it just didn’t feel right anymore.
Yeah, it was scary. But on the other side? She found more purpose, clarity, and that little spark that had been missing for a while.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in a job that looks good from the outside but feels meh on the inside, her story is going to hit hard in the best way.
💸 Passion vs. Paycheck — The Eternal Struggle
Let’s be real: not everyone can just up and quit their job to chase a dream. We’ve got bills. Rent. Real-life responsibilities.
We don’t pretend it’s easy—but we do talk about how there’s room to get creative. Maybe it’s a side hustle. Maybe it’s a slow transition. Or maybe it’s just finally giving yourself permission to ask, “What do I actually want?”
You don’t have to choose between stability and joy. There’s a way to make space for both—you just have to figure out what that looks like for you.
🧠 That Gut Feeling? Yeah… Trust It.
You know that little voice inside you? The one that’s been whispering, “Something’s not right”? Yeah. That voice usually knows what’s up.
Shannon shared how she knew—before she really knew—that it was time to move on. Even when everything looked “fine,” her gut was saying otherwise. And trusting that instinct, even when it didn’t fully make sense, was the beginning of everything shifting for her.
So if you’ve been feeling low-key anxious or stuck lately, maybe take a second to tune in. Your body and brain are a lot wiser than we give them credit for.
💬 It’s Not Just the Job—It’s the People
Another thing we got into? Work culture.
Because let’s be honest—your job title and salary could be great, but if your team is draining or the vibes are off? That impacts your day-to-day.
We talked about how much it matters to feel safe, supported, and seen at work—and how sometimes it’s not the job that needs to change, it’s the environment.
🛑 Redefining Ambition (You Don’t Have to Be “Climbing”)
This part hit home: Georgia has been in the same role for a while now, and guess what? That’s totally okay.
We’ve been conditioned to believe ambition always means chasing more. More titles, more money, more hustle. But what if ambition could also mean staying in a role that aligns with your values, gives you breathing room, and lets you live your life?
You’re allowed to define success on your terms.
💡Feeling Lost? Same. And It’s Okay.
If you're thinking, “Cool, but I have no clue what I actually want to do”—you’re not broken. You’re just in the middle of figuring it out.
Sometimes there’s no clear plan, just curiosity. And that’s more than enough to start. Try something. Mess it up. Start again. You’re learning as you go—just like the rest of us.
Absolutely! Here’s a blog segment version of your text—formatted cleanly, with a warm, conversational tone that’s still reflective and thoughtful. It fits perfectly into a blog post about career transitions, self-discovery, or intentional living:
✍️ A Journaling Prompt That Changed My Perspective
One of the most helpful exercises Georgia’s done recently came from a simple journal prompt:
“What would your everyday look like if bills weren’t an issue?”
Like, hypothetically, if money wasn’t a factor—if you didn’t have to earn a certain amount to survive—
What would you be doing with your time?
Who would you spend your days with?
Where would you live?
How would you feel when you woke up in the morning?
It sounds basic, but sitting down and really writing it all out was surprisingly powerful. It helped me uncover what I truly value—not just what I think I “should” value. It gave me insight into what I want more of in my life right now, even with the realities of work and bills and adulting.
And honestly? It was kind of validating. As I answered those questions, I realized… I'm already doing a lot of the things I imagined in that "ideal" version of my life. Maybe not perfectly or all at once, but still—it was a reminder that I’m not as far off as I thought.
Sometimes, we just need to pause and ask ourselves:
Am I already closer to the life I want than I realize?
And no, it’s not a test. You’re not trying to “get it right.” It’s just about being honest with yourself—and maybe giving yourself credit for how far you've already come.
